Ayana Francois is a director dedicated to experimental works that provide representation and inclusion for marginalized people.

Ayana has also directed concerts such as Penn State's 2nd Annual "Cabaret of Many Colors" and has assisted Broadway Director Steve Broadnax on similar projects.  

 Ayana's directing credits include devised work such as "Narcissus: the Musical", which they devised with their theater group The Poor Theater Collective, and Collegiate credits such as Duncan MacMilla'ns, "Every Brilliant Thing", and Julia Nash's "Murder Ballad" both at Penn State. 

In NYC Ayana has championed and new works. In 2023 Ayana Directed and independenttly produced the NYC premiere of “(t)RUST “alongside the playwright at the Tank NYC. Most recently Ayana directed a workshop of the play “KINYOZI” by Ananda Long at The Flea Theater.

In terms of film, Ayana has directed and written independent short films, which can be found below. 

 Ayana has a flair for metaphor and a passion for work that subverts, expands, and re-works, familiar stories and perspectives, and highlights what is ignored or hidden.
